Amplifiers: 1981 Fender Bassman 135
A throwback from my college daze, and I still have it. I bought her for $400 in 1986 from my friend and bass mentor Jeff Pitts. He blew the engine in his Chevelle and needed some extra cash. I used her with Free Beer, and other assorted bands and recording sessions from 1986 - 1990. I then sold the amp to my friend Tony when I went into the Army in 1990. He used it on occasion, and we pulled it out in 1994 for a little jam with the original members of Prime Suspect. It then went back in his mom's basement, until I acquired it in Dec. 2004. She was going to throw it away, but I brought her back to TX just in time. Cab is now loaded with Eminence Delta 400s. I blew the original speakers many, many times.
On the rooftop of some apartments for a gig on 10th Ave. in Greeley, CO across from Gunter Hall c. 1988. Mated up with a Bassman Ten bottom.
Cranking through a Marshall 4 x 12 at this gig in 2007. Amp was A/Bed with my Ampeg SVT.
She still soldiers on and I currently use her fairly regular. Even accompanied me on a tour out to the east coast and throughout the midwest. I have a custom Keal case made for the head now to protect her from getting too damaged.
Jumpered with my '63 Showman July 4th, 2011 at Sportsterz, Geneva On The Lake, OH.
