| Back in 1982 my mom surprised me with my first pedal. It was a blue and orange Univox Super Fuzz she purchased from my guitar teacher for $20 and gave it to me for Christmas.
From there, my collection of effects has varied throughout the years. Many times I'll buy a pedal because it sounds great in the store, but don't like how it sounds live. Up to this day I trade and sell pedals a lot. But, keep a core group that I really, really like for various gigs and because they are consistent from amp to amp. I still really like vintage pedals, but there are SO MANY new offerings out there from boutique makers that it really gives us players a lot of options these days. |
